happy new year

As this year comes to an end I just want to take the oppertunity to say "thank you." I have been so blessed this year to meet such wonderful people and share in capturing memories with these families. I love what I do and am grateful that you allow me to do it.

I hope that 2009 will bring you and your families happiness, health, and an abundance of blessings.

Happy New Year!!

Michelle

the "N" family

Meet the "N" family...also known as my photo shoot winner from last month.

Kellie and her family were in town for the holidays so what better time to claim her prize. This was fun for me because she is a friend that I have made through this wonderful & crazy blogging world and it was nice to finally meet in person.

What a sweet family you have...hope you enjoy your sneak peek...and many more coming your way very soon.

meet baby Tyler

Can I just say "in love" because that is what I am!! Look at this little doll at only a week old! Yummy...I just wanted to eat him right up!!

Last weekend I had the chance to make a very quick trip to cold and snowy Boise,Id to meet a very special little guy. Tyler is the newest member of the "C" family and a much needed addition I must say since dad was needing some help against all the girls in the house. :)

I must say that this shoot was near and dear to my heart as his mommy and I have been best friends for more years than I can count. I am truly blessed to have such a great friend!

So here's your little preview Jen (and family)...hope you enjoy and I miss you already!!

Jennifer Flake who shared this Holiday tradition with us: "Hey Lettie! We went looking at lights in Alto Loma when I was a kid too! Loved that! We'd sing Christmas carols the whole way there and back...well, at least I would!

As a child, I LOVED that my parents let us open one gift on Christmas Eve. This is a tradition that I have not been allowed to carry over since being wed! My father in law told me, "If you're gonna open one then you have to open them all!" Which I was ALL for...but didn't do. (darn).

By far the best Christmas tradition is reenacting the story of the night Christ was born. As a kid, I loved being an angel and now I get to watch my girls dress up and play their parts.

OH! One more! On Christmas day we eat tamales, taquitos and guacamole. We did this growing up and we still do it today!"

Congrats Jen and a BIG thank you to all who participated in the contest. Of course this was just the first of many to come!

just a reminder

I just wanted to remind everyone to get your comments in to be entered in the "Holiday tradition" contest. The last day to enter will be Monday and a winner will be selected on Tuesday. Click here to enter.

I just want to wish everyone a happy weekend a bit early. I am off to cold and snowy Boise for a sweet treat. Stay tuned for this delicious little treat...you won't want to miss it!

Say some prayers for me as this will be my first time away from my kids and hubby...and I am a bit nervous for more than one reason.

Happy shopping this last weekend before Christmas and be safe. Remember to be patient and kind (not always easy I know)because everyone is out there for pretty much the same reason. :) As for me...yes, I will be wrapping up shopping on Christmas eve day. Where does the time go?

Anyways...happy weekend...I need to go pack!

What's your favorite

...Holiday tradition?

That's right, this fun little contest is all about traditions. I want to know about a favorite tradition in your family. It might be one from when you were a child or a new one that was started as you got married or had children.

For me, growing up a fun one was that every night before bed we turned both the outside and inside Christmas lights off, but on Christmas eve we left them on all night. I still do that today!

When I got married my husband's family got together every Christmas eve for pizza, root beer floats and a gift exchange. This is one we do every year with them and I hope it passes down to our younger members of the family.

Also, since having kids we have started a few new ones. My favorite would have to be the toy donation. Each child picks a toy at the store and gets to donate it to less fortunate kids. My kids are very young so they still get help from me. As they get older I want them appreciate what they have and have the gift of charity in their hearts.

So as you can see I LOVE this time of year since I couldn't pick just one tradition. :)

All you have to do is leave a comment with a favorite holiday tradition of yours. Easy enough!!

Anyone can enter, but only once please. The contest will end on Monday,12/22 and the winner will be randomly selected and announced on Tuesday, 12/23. The winner will receive a gift card to Target. After all who doesn't love to shop at Target?!

So leave a comment for us on this post and give us some good ideas for some traditions that we might want to start with our families.

Happy Holidays!!

break time

That's right, it's break time for me. All my Holiday sessions are wrapped up now and it's time to spend some time with my sweet family and enjoy the magic of the season.

I will still be posting, just a little bit less. Here are a few of the things it might include: a special newborn shoot, a fun little contest, a reminder and possibly an announcement. So keep checking in to see what we are up to...

the "H" family

I can't think of a better way to wrap up my Holiday sessions then with a sweet little family like the H's. I am so lucky to be able to shoot kids that are so good for a stranger with a camera and parents that are so easy going. I am a lucky gal and agian...this was a pleasure!

Enjoy...

my new workout team

Meet two brother/sister teams that had me on my toes. I told mom that I would wear my running shoes, but I had no idea just how much I would need them. :) Little legs sure can move fast!

These little cutie pies were all about fun, just not with the camera. I still think we made out pretty good, but next time I am packing the super glue...only kidding. :)

Enjoy...and happy weekend everyone!!

can we say "F-U-N"

...because that's what this shoot was.

This family came all the way from Texas to see me. Well OK, maybe not to see just me, but I did get to see them while they were visiting. It was great to get to spend a little bit of time with a favorite family of mine that I haven't seen in a long while.

So here's your preview Lynda...I know you've been waiting anxiously. Hope you enjoy...and thanks for the fun!

baby on board

First of all...what a beaming and beautiful mom-to-be is all I can say!!

Mom and I used to work together ages ago and it was so nice to see her now married and with a beautiful family. What a joy they were to be with! And what a doll this little lady was.

I seriously could have posted so many pics because I had so many favorites, but I will save them for mom. Thanks for the fun and I can't wait to hear of baby "M's" arrival in a few short weeks...

meet the Allen's

This was a personal favorite for me to shoot. I have known mom for more years than I can count. I think we have been through every phase of life together and are still making memories.

It was so much fun to TRY and keep up with her little man and get some fun shoots. The kid is a mover that's for sure! We had a great time and only had a few short meltdowns from the little man. :)

Thanks for the fun guys and Happy soon-to-be 2ND Birthday Will!!
