Kevin & Jelena...married

It was a gorgeous day in sunny Southern California. The sun was shining, not too hot and not too cold, the sky was blue and I do believe the birds were singing. Yes, I'm certain they were! A perfect day for a wedding for sure.

This was Kevin and Jelena's day...their wedding day. And what a great day it was! And I was honored to be a part of it.

We weren't going to have much time between the ceremony and the reception so both bride and groom agreed to do the formal pictures before the ceremony. So glad they did!

The Christmas House was beautiful and the perfect location for Kevin and Jelena's pictures.

You see traveling is very special to this couple. After all, they did meet thousands of feet above the Earth.

I love weddings, everything about them!

There are so many beautiful things about a wedding day, but the most beautiful of them all is the beaming bride.

Jelena was no exception. She was so excited as she made her last minute preparations before seeing her soon to be husband.

excited for change

I am so excited to finally share my new logo for Michelle Peterson Photography with you. I mentioned at the beginning of the year that there were gonna be some changes coming my way and this is one of them...a big one...and I'm so excited. More to come soon, but for now a peek at my new logo.

back to my roots

There is so much that I love about this session that I don't even know where to begin. The people, the colors, the laughs and the smiles! All of it!! It makes my heart happy.

When my brother in law and his adorable family came out for a visit we took full advantage of updating the family photos. You see the family had grown since the last time we saw them. SO glad you joined the family Carl!

The other reason I loved this photo shoot so much is that it reminded me of why I began doing what I do. Like anything in the world that has trends, so does photography. I felt like I was getting caught up in what everyone else was doing and thought I might need to do what so-and-so was doing also...wrong. It's so exhausting and makes you forget who "you" are.

So this is me...bright colors and all. I know that these intense colors don't work for every session and location, but here it did. It took me back to my roots and felt like home. I love to be home! Home is familiar and good.

Veronica and Greg thanks for such a fun time. Your family is beautiful and we loved visiting with you. Next time we come visit in beautiful Hawaii.

Winter fun

Last week we were lucky enough to sneak up to the mountains for a quick snow fix. The kids were so excited! Thank goodness we live so close to enjoy on the spur of the moment. The kids had fun, but Chloe clearly loved it way more than Christian. Once he realized that he couldn't feel his fingers very well...the fun seemed to be over for him.
